The first two episodes of The Acolyte are finally here, and fans are already clamouring for more of Leslye Headland's Star Wars series.

While many Star Wars series of late have had mixed reactions, all signs are pointing towards The Acolyte, which is set earlier than anything else we've seen in the franchise on-screen, being one of the better ones, with reviews of the show having been largely positive and the series boasting a stellar cast.
As is the norm for the streamer, Disney Plus is releasing the episodes on a weekly basis, and that began with a double-header on Tuesday 4th June in the US (Wednesday 5th June in the UK) - which has already made fans desperate to learn more about what's in store after we were introduced to Amandla Stenberg's Osha and Mae.
The opening episodes also introduced us to Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), and began to detail his complicated relationship with the sisters, with the rest of the season set to follow a dangerous conflict.
Showrunner Headland has already teased what's in store for fans, recently telling RadioTimes.com: "I just went nuts. I crammed every single thing I could into the show, which is maybe a good thing or maybe a bad thing. I love Star Wars so much that getting the opportunity to work on one, I was just like, 'I'm gonna put everything I have into this.'"

When is The Acolyte episode 3 released on Disney Plus?
Following the opening double-header, the third episode in the series will arrive on Disney Plus on Tuesday 11th June 2024 in the US – although it's worth noting that UK viewers won't be able to watch it until 2am on Wednesday 12th June 2024.

What is The Acolyte about?
The new season is set at the end of the High Republic era in the galaxy far, far away – with the events unfolding roughly 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
An official synopsis for the show reads: "In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg).
"As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…"
